One Car MVA off the Roadway

On the night of Saturday April 15th Hawleyville fire responded to a one car MVA on Butterfield road with injuries. One occupant had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Two Car MVA on Mount Pleasant Road with Entrapment.

On the morning of Monday April 3th Hawleyville Fire respond to a two car MVA on Mount Pleasant Road that required extrication. Hawleyville fire extricated three occupants from the two vehicle that took about 20 min. one of the occupant was fatally injured.

 

 

 

Fully Involved Vehicle Fire

On the Afternoon of Thursday April 27th Hawleyville Fire responded to a fully involved vehicle fire at the residence of 7 Butternut Ridge,  The vehicle was a 1995 chey Van that had some titanium engine parts that required the use of class B foam to extinguish the fire that took about 20 min. to fully extinguish and use about 1500 gl. of water.

Hawleyville Fire Won Golf Tournament!!

Hawleyville Fire brings Home the Newtown First Responders Golf Tournament Trophy that was held at the Newtown Country Club on Oct.23,    It was a Great day for all,  Hawleyville had entered (3) teams into the Tournament who all Competed for the win.  We would like to Thank Newtown Country Club for Sponsoring the Tournament.

Hawleyville Fire on Scene Structure Fire

On the early morning of May 24th Hawleyville fire answered the call as the  2nd due company to a fully involved structure fire in a vacant house on Castle Hill Road upon arrival Engine 331 lay out 1,100 ft. of 5″ supply line and pump over 95,000 gl. of water onto the fire, Tanker 339 delivered 11 loads of water to the scene 33,000 gl. of water, HVFD also with Engine 332 answered 3 other call for automatic alarms during the duration of the structure fire. There were no injuries and all returned home safe..

Early Morning MVA on Interstate 84

On the early morning of June 8th Hawleyville Fire answered the call for motor vehicle accident with injuries on interstate 84 eastbound at exit 9. Engine 331 and Heavy Rescue 334 responded to the scene,  Upon arrival found a car underneath the back of a tractor trailer with the driver of the vehicle pinned in the car.  Fire dept. had to use the jaws of life to free the driver.

Head-On MVA on I-84

On the afernoon of Wednesday February 18th Hawleyville Fire answered the call for a head on collision when a vehicle  traveling eastbound jumped over the center divider and collided with a vehicle traveling westbound. One person had to be extricated from their vehicle by Hawleyville Fire using hydraulic rescue tools. several were injured and transported to Danbury Hospital by Newtown Ambulance.

Car vs Tractor Trailer Insterstate 84

On the early morning of October 23, at about 4:30 am Hawleyville Fire was dispatch to a motor vehicle accident with no injuries on  Interstate 84 eastbound just east of 9 on Ramp. Upon arrival the fire chief radio in that it was a car vs Tractor trailer and the tractor trailer saddle tank was heavily damaged and leaking diesel fuel from drivers side tank. after surveying the scene found that the diesel had entered a storm drain about 200′ away from the truck. Hawleyville’s heavy Rescue was call to the scene to stop the leak and reduces the environmental hazard. DEEP was also call to the scene.

Car Fire On Interstate 84

On the the afternoon of Oct. 18th Hawleyville Fire answered the call for a car fire on interstate 84 east bound about 1/2 mile east of exit 9 on ramp. upon arrival the engine compartment was fully involved with fire, Engine 331 quickly extinguish the fire using class B  foam.  There were no injuries, but the car was a total loss.

I-84 One Car Roll Over into Tree with Injuries

On the early afternoon of Monday October 6, Hawleyville Fire answered the call for one car MVA on I -84 eastbound west of exit 10 off ramp with entrapment.  Upon arrival the first due Engine 331 and Heavy Rescue 334 found all occupants were self-extricated from vehicle. All were transported to Danbury Hospital by Newtown Ambulance.
