One Car MVA off the Roadway

On the night of Saturday April 15th Hawleyville fire responded to a one car MVA on Butterfield road with injuries. One occupant had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Open House April 23th 2017

On April 23,2017 Hawleyville Fire Co. will be participating in State wide Volunteer firefighter day by haven a Open House from 9am to 2pm. This is the first time that Hawleyville Fire will take part in a state wide event. 80% of all firefighters in Conn. are volunteer and to keep us all volunteer we need you. Stop down to the HVFD and talk with other volunteer and see how you can help.

Head-On MVA on I-84

On the afernoon of Wednesday February 18th Hawleyville Fire answered the call for a head on collision when a vehicle  traveling eastbound jumped over the center divider and collided with a vehicle traveling westbound. One person had to be extricated from their vehicle by Hawleyville Fire using hydraulic rescue tools. several were injured and transported to Danbury Hospital by Newtown Ambulance.

2014 Hawleyville Fire Annual Clambake

On Sunday Aug. 31 Hawleyville Fire held their annual Labor day weekend Clambake at the Fire station, This was a well attended from the members with their families and as well from the community.  This year hawleyville had added a pizza truck to their long list of food that was on hand for this all day event their was over 100 pizzas made for the all day party.

Mt. Pleasant Roll-Over with Extrication.

On the afternoon of July 25 Hawleyville Fire responded with there heavy rescue  to a one car motor vehicle accident roll over on its side with injuries, The drive was entrapped in the vehicle that was on it side. Firefighters from NH&L assistant with the extrication, Part of the roof had to be removed to get the driver out safely and then was transported to Danbury Hospital by Newtown Ambulance.

Members from Hawleyville Fire Attended A Extrication Class

On July 12 and 13th Five Members from Hawleyville Fire gave up a Friday night and Saturday afternoon to sharpen their skills on vehicle extrication.  This class was held at the Botsford Fire company with instructors from the Connnecticut fire Academy.

Provided Standby Coverage for Fireworks

On the night of June 28th and July 4th Hawleyville Fire was on Standby at 38 Taunton Hill Road providing fire coverage for a private fireworks show.

 Our annual spring clean up of the fire house  Sunday April 27th   This event happens once a year when we all converge on the fire house to clean up and wash the outside of our building  This year is going to be a very active year for Hawleyville.
