Membership Type

Hawleyville Volunteer Fire, offers several types of membership. Please select the membership that best suits the type of volunteering you would like to provide to our department.
Firefighter: Involved in responding to emergency incidents. Assisting in providing 24/7 service to Newtown/surrounding towns. This membership requires a physical ability test, ongoing training, and being subjected to hazardous working conditions.
Support Member: This membership type does not require/include response to incidents. Typically this role is to support the department administrative/ non-firefighting services.
